Most of us believe that comfort foods are bad for us and that we should keep away from them. But if your comfort food is candy or junk food this is true. Other times, though, comfort foods can be altogether nutritious and it’s good for you to eat them. There are some foods that really can improve your moods when you consume them. When you are feeling a little down and need an emotional boost, try a few of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, are wonderful for helping you combat depression. You need to make sure, though, that what you make includes the yolk. The yolk is the part of the egg that is the most important in terms of helping raise your mood. Eggs, the yolks in particular, are loaded with B vitamins. These B vitamins are fantastic for helping to boost your mood. This is because the B vitamins help your neural transmitters–the parts of your brain that affect your mood–function better. Eat an egg and cheer up!

Now you realize that junk food isn’t necessarily what you should eat when you are wanting to help your moods get better. Try several of these instead!
