The ingredients needed to make Goan Fish Fry:
- Use 500 gms White / Black Pomfrets (fillets or whole)
- Take 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- You need 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
- Get 1.5 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- Get to taste Salt
- Prepare 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- Provide 1/4 cup Rava / Suji / Semolina
- Prepare 2 tbsp Rice Flour
- Prepare As required Oil to shallow fry
Instructions to make Goan Fish Fry:
- Wash the fish fillets well. Drain the excess water and place the fish in a wide mixing bowl.
- Add the turmeric & red chilli powders, the ginger garlic paste & salt to taste.
- Add the lemon juice. Mix gently and rub the fish well with the masalas. Cover and set aside for 20-30 mins.
- Place the semolina and rice flour on a plate, add a dash of salt, mix.
- Take each fish piece and place it on top of the flour mix, coat well with the flour from both sides.
- Heat a nonstick tava, grease with 2-3 tsp oil. Place the flour-dusted fish on it and shallow fry on low-medium heat for 5 mins. Drizzle a little oil on top & on the sides, flip and fry from both sides till golden brown & crisp.
- Serve hot with ketchup or green chutney or as an accompaniment to fish curry & rice.
