Otherwise, comfort foods could be extremely nutritious and good for you. There are several foods that basically can improve your moods when you eat them. When you are feeling a little down and are needing an emotional boost, test out a few of these.

Put together a trail mixfrom a variety of seeds and nuts. Peanuts, cashews, sunflower seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, etc are all great for helping to raise your mood. This is because these foods are rich in magnesium, which helps to increase serotonin production. Serotonin is a feel-good substance that directs the brain how to feel at any given point in time. The more serotonin you have, the better you are going to feel. Not only that, nuts, specifically, are a fantastic source of protein.

The ingredients needed to cook Grandma's spaghetti sauce:
  1. You need spaghetti sauce
  2. You need 5 tomatoes
  3. You need 1 can tomato sauce
  4. You need 1 italien seasoning
  5. Prepare 1 basil
  6. Take 1 minced garlic
  7. Prepare 1/2 onion, chopped
  8. Prepare salt
  9. Get 1 tbsp olive oil
  10. You need 1 red pepper flakes
Instructions to make Grandma's spaghetti sauce:
  1. Chop the tomatoes into chunks and put into a large pot or crock pot
  2. Pour the tomato sauce in with the tomatoes and put on medium heat
  3. While that's heating up, lightly brown the garlic and onion with some red pepper flakes in a frying pan with the olive oil.
  4. Once they are soft and lightly browned add to the tomatoes
  5. Add the Italian seasoning, basil, and salt to taste. Tip: because the Italian seasoning is dried you will need a lot. I use probably 2-4 tablespoons. If you use dried basil add extra.
  6. Stir and cover. Let simmer on LOW heat for 2-3 hours. Or until the sauce is bubbly and the tomatoes are soft
  7. Take the cover off and turn the heat up to medium low heat. Let simmer until the sauce thickens to your preference.
  8. Add to spaghetti pasta, homemade lasagna, goolash or whatever you want! I like to add Italian sausage and use it in lasagna
