  2. Get 1 t kosher salt
  3. Get 2 C white corn grits
  4. You need 3 T butter
  5. Get 2 C cheddar cheese (grated)
  6. Provide 1 T + butter for every slice you intend to fry
Steps to make Fried Cheesy Grits:
  1. In a large pot over high heat, bring water to a boil.
  2. Gradually stir in the grits.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer gently, stirring frequently until mixture is very thick (about 30 minutes).
  4. Stir in the butter, salt and cheese until cheese is melted.
  5. Pour mixture into a greased loaf pan, level and chill overnight.
