- You need 1 kg cabbage washed and finely chopped
- Take 1 tsp mustard seeds
- Provide 1 tsp cumin seeds
- Get 2 sprigs curry leaves
- Provide 3-4 green chillies
- Take 1-2 red dried chillies
- Prepare 1 tsp urad dal
- Provide 1 tsp chana dal (optional)
- You need Pinch asafoetida
- Use 1 tbspn coconut oil/any vegetable oil
- You need 1/2 tsp organic turmeric
- Prepare Pinch sugar/jaggery(optional)
- Prepare Handful coriander leaves
- Provide 1 tbspn fresh grated coconut
- Use to taste Pink salt

- Heat a wok, add oil, mustard seeds, let it splutter, add cumin, chana dal, urad dal, curry leaves, asafoetida, green chillies,red chilli and saute for some seconds.
- Add onion and saute till becomes translucent.
- Add turmeric, sugar and salt and add the chopped cabbage, mix well.
- Cover with a steam releasing lid and let it cook for 5-10 mins.
- When done, add coriander leaves and garnish with some fresh grated coconut.
