The ingredients needed to prepare Brownies:
- Provide 250 grams self raising flour (best option) / plain flour
- You need 200 grams fine sugar
- You need 100 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
- Take 150 grams dark chocolate (flavoured works wonders)
- Prepare 1.5 tablespoon baking powder
- You need 75-80 ml milk
- Get 1 tablespoon vanilla Essence
- Prepare 100 grams unsalted melted butter
- Take As needed Some oil / melted butter for greasing
Instructions to make Brownies:
- Using the double boiler method or microwave, melt the dark chocolate well
- Preheat the oven and grease a Square baking tin/ dish
- While the chocolate is still hot, add the melted butter and vanilla to it and whisk well to combine
- In another bowl, sieve together the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and sugar
- Mix well and add the melted dark chocolate
- Fold in well after adding just enough milk to create a thick batter
- Add the mixture to the baking tin and tap the bottom gently to even out the mixture in the tin(you do not have to use a spatula to even the surface)
- Bake till done at 180 degrees celcius roughly for 30-40 minutes
- Check by inserting a toothpick if the brownie is ready
- Let cool and demould
- Cut into cubes and store airtight
- Tip: use a good quality dark chocolate, and if possible a flavoured one to create an amazing taste.
